Maxine Ledoux

Attorney and owner

Maxine runs the office herself. When you call, you reach her or her voicemail, and she calls back.

Maxine started the practice after a long run of cases where the legal question was easy and the paperwork was what stopped people. Clearing a record is usually that kind of case: the law exists, and most of the work is knowing which door, which form and which date.

She takes a limited number of cases at a time, tells people early when a case isn't a fit, and writes to clients in plain language, not legal shorthand.

The office

One lawyer, one phone line, no hand-offs

You won't be passed to a paralegal you haven't met or an intake line in another state.

The office is on Washington Avenue, a few blocks from the courthouse, with parking behind the building and a street-level entrance. You can come in, or we can do everything by phone and mail.

There are cases we don't take: serious felonies that can't be cleared, immigration questions and anything outside record clearing. When that's true, we say so and, where we can, suggest who to call.

What you can count on

  • Calls returned the same working day

  • Everything about fees in writing before you sign

  • A straight answer when a case isn't a fit
